Gruppo Mastrotto winner of the “Women and Fashion Observatory” Award alongside Gucci and Brunello Cucinelli
We are proud to announce our victory in the “Work-family Balance and Corporate Welfare” category of the first edition of the “Women and Fashion Observatory” Award, organised by “Foglio della Moda”, the monthly fashion industry and culture supplement of the daily newspaper “Il Foglio” with the support of PwC Italia. An award dedicated to fashion companies that have distinguished themselves in female empowerment, that Gruppo Mastrotto has won alongside two giants of the industry such as Gucci and Brunello Cucinelli.
To assign the awards, the Jury assessed the participating companies based on a series of criteria including an analysis of financial reports, welfare initiatives and career development programmes for women, as well as data and statements collected through trade associations and direct interviews.
Our Group’s projects and commitment in these areas earned us a place on the final short list and, subsequently, victory in one of the three categories of the award.
Over the years, our company has developed and implemented numerous welfare initiatives aimed specifically at supporting the needs of working women, including parenting support, flexible working hours and a maternity bonus. A special mention goes to the initiative that has enabled our employees to undergo free examinations for the prevention of breast cancer directly in the workplace, thanks to a mobile clinic equipped with state-of-the-art instruments.
In the offices of our Group, women now represent around 26% of production staff – a percentage well above the industry average – and 51% of office employees, with 57% female executives and perfect gender parity on the board of directors.
The awards ceremony was held on the evening of 8 May at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, where Chiara and Giovanna Mastrotto collected the award on behalf of the company. This is an award that confirms our Group’s leading role not only in the tanning industry, but also in opportunities for women, welfare programmes and attention to a proper work-life balance.
“Winning this award makes us particularly proud” says Chiara Mastrotto. “Our welfare policies are concrete expressions of our desire to support the well-being and health of our female employees. This award reinforces our commitment to promote an inclusive working environment that values the professional and personal development of all employees equally”.
