Mastrotto Group Takes Center Stage on the International Fashion Scene

For Vogue, it is traditionally the most important event of the year: a conference on the state of the art in the fashion world, with the goal of giving voice to the entire supply chain. This is “Forces of Fashion,” a day with the leading figures in the sector, which this year for the first time arrives in Rome on October 21, at the former Mattatoio in the Testaccio district.

Two pavilions will host the event organized by Vogue Italia: the first will feature workshops and experiential spaces, while the second will host talks with major figures from fashion, culture, and cinema, who will share their visions with the audience, inspiring a multigenerational audience and continuing to play a key role in the cultural promotion of fashion.

Among the guests are Isabella Rossellini, actress, model, and director; Paola Malanga, Artistic Director of the Rome Film Fest; Sabato De Sarno, Artistic Director of Gucci; Pierpaolo Piccioli, Artistic Director of Valentino; Concita De Gregorio, journalist, writer, playwright, and radio and TV host; Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear at Fendi; Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of Women's collections of Haute Couture, Ready-to-Wear, and Accessories at Dior.

In the pavilion reserved for workshops, Chiara Mastrotto, President and CEO of our Group, will deliver a speech titled “Changing Skin: Rediscovering a Circular Material,” focusing on sustainability in the tanning industry. Discussing fashion in 2023 means inevitably addressing topics such as the sustainable supply chain and innovation in production processes. 

Leveraging over 65 years of experience as an international benchmark in bovine leather processing, our Group will address the importance of leather in the fashion industry, particularly highlighting the value of a material that represents one of the oldest examples of a circular economy. Chiara Mastrotto will be joined in conversation by eco-entrepreneur Eva Geraldine Fontanelli, with moderation by Giulia di Giamberardino, Fashion Contributor at Vogue Italia.
